Golnaz Afraz
Born in 1981 in Tehran, Iran. Lives and works in Strasburg, France
Golnaz Afraz holds a BA in Painting from Islamic Azad University in Tehran and two Master’s degrees: an MA in Visual Arts from the University of Strasbourg, France, and an MA in Painting from Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran.
Since 2005, her work has been exhibited in 15 solo exhibitions and 35 group exhibitions across Europe and Asia, including Art Paris at the Grand Palais, the London Art Fair, and the Affordable Art Fair in London, Battersea, Brussels, and Amsterdam. Selected solo and group exhibitions have been presented at Riana Raouna Gallery (2024); Brûlée Gallery, Strasbourg (2026, 2025, 2022, 2021, 2019, 2017, 2015, 2012); Autour de l’Image Gallery, Strasbourg (2021–2024); Gala Fine Art, London (2021); and Saatchi Gallery, London (2014).
Afraz is also the recipient of the “A Dream of Humanity” award from Fondation Villa Seurat in France. The awarded work was installed at the Francophonie School in Paris. She additionally received the “Painted Words” award from Saatchi Gallery, Los Angeles.
